Jai Narain Vyas University,
Jodhpur, was established in 1962 as University of Jodhpur. It imparts education and conducts research in border areas neighboring Pakistan.
The colleges situated within the municipal limits of Jodhpur are affiliated to the university. It has about five academic campuses. Courses are offered in the faculties of arts, commerce, engineering, law and science. The university has recognized several national institutes located in Jodhpur for pursuing research leading to PhD. There are three other centers working in the fields of art, culture, history and heritage, which are recognized by the university.
