Perched at an altitude of about 1,522 ft above sea level, Jagannathpur is located in
Ranchi District of
Jharkhand. It is about 10 km south-west of
Ranchi.

The place is famous for the 17th century Jagannathpur Temple lying on a hillock, which resembles the architectural style of Puri Temple. During the festival season, Rath Yatra is conducted here.
