Established in 1984, JSS Medical College is recognized by the Medical Council of India and is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences,
Karnataka. The college is also recognized by The General Medical Council, Sri Lanka Medical Council and WHO. Managed by JSS Mahavidyapeetha, it offers courses in MBBS, PG degree/diploma, Ph D and para medical courses.
The college has 7 lecture halls, 1 spacious library and 1 large auditorium. There are fully equipped pre-clinical and para-clinical departments along with museums. Hostel facilities are also available. Facilities include a CT-scanning centre, library, artificial limb centre, anatomy museum and human cytogenetic laboratory.
The JSS Hospital complex run by the JSS Medical Service trust is a full fledged hospital serving all the departments. The hospital has 1100 beds. This hospital is coordinated with JSS Medical College in the field of teaching.
