Ithikkara is a small village, situated to the south of Kollam in Kollam District. It rests along the National Highway 47, about 15 km from Kollam and about 55 km from Thiruvananthapuram. This village lies on the banks of the Ithikkara River. It was once the headquarters of the tile industries. Now cashew factories, brick industry and coir industry contribute to the villager’s economy.
Madan Temple is the major attraction here. Nearby villages include Adichanalloor and Kaithakuzhy. Kottiyam and Chathannoor are the nearest towns. Ithikkara is connected to Oyoor, Anchal, Kulathuppuzha, Thenmala and Aryankavu by road.
