Established in 1965 at
New Delhi, the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses is considered to be a premier strategic and security studies Think Tank in India. With a well-qualified multi-disciplinary research faculty of about 70 scholars and researchers, the Institute imparts training to government officers drawn from the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, the Armed Forces, and the Para-Military Forces.
Its library has an excellent information resource base in national security, defense strategy and international relations. It also offers facilities for foreign scholars for their research.
