Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, situated at
Mysore, is a national museum with its headquarters at
Bhopal. The museum is intended for the preservation of traditional Indian art and culture. It also serves as a cultural center for all those who are interested in learning the rural arts of India. The displayed items include examples of both old and new handicrafts and various art works such as Gujarati embroidery and
Rajasthan terracotta sculpture.
The Sangrahalaya also organizes various programs such as workshop cum demonstration of traditional art and crafts. It also conducts various cultural competitions including traditional rangoli competition. Admission is free and is open on all days except Sundays and Mondays from 10:00 to 17:30 hrs.
