Indira Gandhi College for Arts and Science, a novel venture of the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust, was founded in 2002 at
Kothamangalam in
Eranakulam District. It was setup with an aim to churn out a generation equipped with intellectual excellence, integrity of character and commitment to the society.
Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, the college offers under graduate courses in commerce, electronics, bio-technology, business administration and computer science. Post graduate courses in the disciplines of commerce, bio-informatics, micro biology and bio-technology are also here.
Frequent talks, seminars and other informative activities of academic value are organized regularly. Facilities include a well stocked library, laboratories, work shops and separate hostel for boys and girls.
The college is on the Kothamangalam-Perumbavoor route, just 3 km away from the west side of Kothamangalam municipality.
