Indian Veterinary Research Institute




On the recommendation of the Cattle Plague Commission, Indian Veterinary Research Institute was established at Mukteshwar in 1893 to facilitate the segregation and quarantine of highly contagious organisms. The institute researches in animal nutrition, genetics and bacteriology. The campus also features a museum and library. There are quiet walks within the sprawling campus.
