Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) was set up in 1957 with its headquarters at
New Delhi. It provides training in adventure sports like mountaineering, rock climbing, and trekking. The foundation organizes national and international conferences, training / environment-cleaning camps and climbing competitions.
The complex features offices, library-cum-reading room, documentation and information center, conference hall, auditorium, dormitories, canteen, equipment store, museum and climbing wall.
The IMF is a dynamic member of the Union International Des Associations D'Alpinisme (UIAA), and Projects Indian Mountain Tourism Resources. It is also closely linked with the Ministry of Sports, Home, Defense, Tourism and Environment of the Government of India.
Indian Mountaineering Foundation office is easily reached from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (15 Km), the Inter- State Bus Terminus ISBT (25 Km), and New Delhi Railway Station (10 Km).
