Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research
Established in 1952 by Indian Central Sugarcane Committee, Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research (IISR) conducts research and development on crop improvement, sugarcane farm machinery, soil and water conservation, plant physiology, biochemistry, entomology, cytogenetics, tissue culture, breeding, hybridization, and germplasm. IISR undertakes extension and training programs for farmers and industrialists. The institute has a well established radio tracer laboratory, agrometeorology laboratory, juice analysis laboratory, central laboratory, ARIS cell, library, and seed production unit.
