Hyderabad Golf Club is run by the Hyderabad Golf Association, whose main aim is to promote golf in the twin cities of
Hyderabad and
Secunderabad. The club site consists of about 50 acres of adjoining water body of the former Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, and 110 acres within the Naya Quila, a component of the historic Golconda Fort complex.
The club offers 18-hole par 72 course in 7000 yards, built to international standards. Designed by David Hemstock, the course boasts of a natural lake and stretches into the Naya Quila.
An added attraction, even to the casual tourist, is the boabab tree, believed to be about 500 years old. A temporary club house is operational for those using the driving range.
