Huthri is a harvest festival celebrated in areas around
Coorg in
Karnataka. The festival is celebrated in the months of November and December when the paddy is ready to be harvested. Harvesting begins when the head of the family formally cuts a handful of paddy on a full moon night. A single shot is fired to admire Lord Iguthappa, the divinity of the Coorgis.
