Hriday Kunj

Hriday Kunj is one of the most important historical sites in Gujarat. During 1918-1930, it was the residential quarters of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the father of the nation. This is a small house in the Harijan Ashram in Ahmedabad. It was from here that Gandhiji orchestrated non-violent struggle for the freedom of India. This house was named Hriday Kunj, as it was a haven for the untouchables (Harijans). Hriday Kunj has a museum and a prayer ground.
