Hingoli District




Hingoli District is one of the newest districts of Maharashtra. With an area of about 4,526 sq km, it has a population of about 1 million. The main folk-arts of the region are Gondhal, Shahiri and Bharud. Marathi, Hindi and Urdu are the languages spoken. The temperature ranges from 11o C to 43o C. Hingoli District receives an average rainfall of about 900 mm. It is well-known for its production of jowar and cotton. Aundha Nagnath, Narsi Namdeo and Barashiv Hanuman are the major tourist attractions.
