The Hindu College was directly related to the freedom movement of India. Its amphitheatre at
Kashmiri Gate had attracted famous leaders such as Lokmanya Tilak, Annie Besant, Mahatma Gandhi, Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya, Sarojini Naidu, Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru and others. The college is one of the most eminent post graduate co-educational institutions of India. Hindu College has more than 2,000 students and 100 experienced faculties. It provides a wide range of courses in Science, Humanities and Social Sciences. The college houses a well-equipped laboratory for science students. The hostel of the college can accommodate about 200 students and the seminar room provides a seating capacity of about 100. The college maintains a well-stocked library and a reading room. The library carries a number of dailies, weeklies, periodicals and journals. The college also houses excellent playground and a sport complex ideal for cricket, tennis, basketball and swimming.
