Hikkalappana Betta, a typical wooded hillock flanked by thick bushes and large boulders, is around 66 km from
Bangalore. Situated on the border of
Tumkur District, this place has an ancient temple dedicated to
Kurma avatar of
Lord Vishnu. From here, one can have a panoramic view of the nature. The hill is about 1,650 ft tall and visitors have to climb a long flight of steps to reach the top of the hill. A small fresh water spring and a large water tank are there at the top of the hill. It is an ideal spot for trekking. A temple dedicated to Lord Balaji is also situated on this hillock.
