Sri Lankan High Commission, the representatives of Sri Lanka in India, has been set up with the purpose of putting Sri Lanka on the political and economic map of India and to reap the benefits of greater bilateral trade between the two countries. The High Commission is located at
Chanakyapuri, the diplomatic enclave of
New Delhi.
The High Commission’s services include issuing emergency passports, immigrant and non-immigrant visa processing, assisting its citizens in emergencies, representing them while talking to local authorities and purveying tourist information apart from ensuring the overall welfare of Sri Lankan citizens in India.
Indira Gandhi International Airport is 15 km to the north-west of Chanakyapuri. The Sri Lankan High Commission is about 10 km to the south-west of New Delhi Railway Station and around 12 km from the Interstate Bus Stand at Kashmiri Gate.
