Hazare Shabad is a common term given to some selected devotional hymns belonging to the Sikh religion. The word ‘hazare’ means ‘important,’ referring to the hymns. A total of 7 hymns have been derived from the Guru Granth Sahib and 10 from the Dasam Granth. Out of the 7 verses belonging to the Guru Granth Sahib, 6 have been composed by Guru Nanak and one by Guru Arjan Dev. The verses from Dasam Granth belong to Guru Gobind Singh.
