Hathikuli is an attractive destination situated in the eastern side of
Assam's
Golaghat District. The place derives its name from the two
Assamese words 'hati' meaning elephant and 'khuli' meaning frequent. It is bounded by Bishnath in the west, Gangmohthan in the north,
Kaziranga in the east and
Sarhed in the south. Other attractions nearby are the ruins of the ancient
Numaligarh or the Deoparbat, Methoni, Difalu, and Behora Borchapori.
Hathikuli is only 12 km from Kaziranga. Located on the National Highway 37, Hathikuli is easily accessible by road. Furkating Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead which is situated 75 km away from Kaziranga National Park.
