Located about 3 km from
Srisailam is Hatakeswaram, a historical spot where
Adi Shankaracharya did his penance and composed the Sivanand Lahari. It has two hot springs and a temple dedicated to
Lord Shiva. The lingam of the temple was originally made of gold.
