Hasimara, also spelt Hashimara, in
Jalpaiguri District, is the last town on the Indian side of the border in
West Bengal. The small modern town of Phuntsholing is 13 km to the north.
Madarihat, a prominent town in the district, is 9 km to the west.
Lankapara Hat,
Rangamati and
Kalchini are the nearby places. The town is surrounded by tea-gardens.
Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary, Dalgaon Tea Estate, Kharbandi monastery at Phuntsholing and
Birpara are other attractions around.
The nearest railway station is Hasimara Railway Station, about 20 km away from the Jaldapara Sanctuary.
