Hariyali Teej, also known as Teejen, is a popular festival of women in
Uttar Pradesh. It is related to
Goddess Parvati, and it commemorates the union of
Lord Shiva and Parvati.
It generally falls on the day following Sindhare (July). On this occasion, women wear colorful costumes and apply mehndi on their hands. Married women celebrate this festival at their parent's house.
