Harishankar is a place of religious prominence, located on the southern slope of Gandhamardan hills, in
Balangir District of
Orissa. Harishankar is about 45 km from
Bhubaneswar and 81 km from
Balangir. It derives its name after Hari (
Lord Vishnu) and Shankar (
Lord Shiva) - the dual deities of Hindu mythology.
