Hariharnath Temple is located at
Sonepur, which is 25 km north of
Patna, in
Bihar. It is dedicated to the combined form of
Lord Vishnu and
Lord Shiva.
There is a belief that this shrine was built by Lord Ram, on his way to Janakpur to rescue Sita. A large number of devotees assemble here on full moon day of Kartik, which falls during October-November.
