Harihar




Harihar is an ancient town and pilgrim center situated on the banks of Tungabhadra, in Davangere District, Karnataka. The town is about 14 km from Davangere.

Major point of attraction here is the 12th century Harihareshwara Temple, built in Hoysala style of architecture. The temple is famous for the 4 ft image of Harihara with its left portion representing Lord Vishnu and the right, Lord Shiva.

Harihar Railway Station is on the Hubli-Birur rail route.
