An important harvest festival in
Madhya Pradesh, Hareli Festival is celebrated by the Gond tribes of
Mandla District. It is held in the early period of rains, mostly in the month of July-August.
The word 'Hareli' is derived from a Hindi word, 'Haryali' which means greenery. During this festival, the goddess of crop 'Kutki Dai' is worshipped to ensure better harvest.
