Hanegaon is right near the southern border of Nanded District, which it shares with Bidar District of Karnataka, and is just 7 km south-west of Loni. Aurad is the nearest settlement on the other side of the border, in Bidar District, about 10 km from Hanegaon.

Hanegaon is also quite close to Nanded’s border with Andhra Pradesh – Jukal in Nizamabad District is 17 km from Hanegaon.
