Halvad Palace is a double-storeyed structure situated at
Halvad in the
Surendranagar District of
Gujarat. The palace has a temple of family goddess, hall for public audience, garden, and administrative offices. All these resemble Rajput architecture. The entry to this palace is from the town-side.
Halvad Palace is a combined architecture of wood and stone and is adorned with carved wooden columns, brackets and friezes. This wooden palace has a beautifully carved entrance gate which leads to a huge courtyard.
The palace has four raised pathways and an octagonal tower. From the top of the octagonal tower, one can have a panoramic view of the surrounding villages, therefore it is popularly known as Jhalawad Darshan or EK-Dandia Mahal. The palace also has beautiful sit-outs of sand stone on the terrace.
