Haktmpur

Situated about 9 km south-east of Bariga, Haktmpur is a beautiful village in Jalandhar District. Local tradition has it that Guru Nanak Dev, founder of Sikhism, halted here during one of his travels.

Haktmpur has a historical shrine called Gurdwara Nanaksar raised in honor of Guru Nanak. Built in 1974, this gurdwara is a three storied building with a marble floored hall. The uppermost dome has a gilded pinnacle. There is a holy tank here. Every year in September, a religious fair is arranged here with much pomp and merriment.

Amritsar International Airport serves Haktmpur.
