Haider Sheikh Fair is held at the shrine of Haider Sheikh, in
Malerkotla, in
Sangrur District of
Punjab. It is a large fair and lasts for four days. It is believed that if a childless woman visits this shrine and propitiates the pir, she will be blessed with child. Likewise, if someone overpowered by a malignant spirit comes here during these days and propitiates the saint, he will be cured. Rot, a special sweet dish, is offered at the shrine.
