H H Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia Museum is situated in the
Jai Vilas Palace, in
Lashkar,
Madhya Pradesh. Established in 1964, the museum exhibits a large variety of objects including sculptures, bronzes, weapons, miniature paintings, manuscripts and coins. Malabar and Madurai wood work, cut glass and crystal ornaments, ivory, Persian carpets, Chinese and Japanese art, musical instruments and a mechanical silver train which was used as drinks trolley are the other artifacts on display.
Visiting hours are set between 9:30 to 16:30 hrs daily, except Mondays.
Lashkar Railway Station is the nearest railhead. The nearest airport is at Gwalior.
