Gutka is a small book containing the important prayers of Sikhism. These prayers are meant to be recited daily.
The Gutka supplements the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of Sikh religion. It can be used in a religious ceremony in case the holy book is not available. Even in a naming ceremony of a child, when the holy book is usually read for deriving the name, the Gutka can be used instead in its absence. A person wishing to convert to Sikhism may start by regularly reading the Gutka.
