Gurusaday Museum (Museum of Bengal Folk Art) is noted for its treasure of 2,325 exquisite specimens of folk arts and crafts of undivided Bengal, collected by the then administrator Gurusday Dutt. These exhibits amply reflect the vigor and vitality of the rural life and present a vivid picture of the art and social traditions, religious beliefs, practices and motives, and cultural influences of
West Bengal and Bangladesh. The items on display include kantha works, terracotta panels, paintings, carvings, dolls and toys, pottery, and manuscripts.
The museum is open from 11:00 to 17:00 hrs on all days except Mondays and gazetted holidays. Photography is allowed upon permission.
