Guru Jambheshwar University in
Hissar was set up by an Act of Legislature of
Haryana on October 20, 1995. It is named after Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, an environmentalist of the 15th century.
The university strives to facilitate and promote studies and research emphasizing on technology, pharmacy, environmental studies, non-conventional energy sources and management studies. It offers academic programmes at both graduate and post-graduate levels.
On-the-job industrial training forms an important module of the courses. Special prominence is given for theoretical and practical training. Apart from distant education programmes, the university arranges campus interviews, workshops, seminars and symposia.
The campus possesses teaching blocks, hostels, shopping complex, VIP guest house, faculty house, administrative block, library, health center and residential houses.
