Gurdwara Ranjit Garh is situated at
Chamkaur Sahib village in
Rupnagar District of
Punjab.
Guru Gobind Singh is said to have rested at this place for a while, on his way from
Kurukshetra to Anandpur Sahib in 1703. Mughal soldiers, under the command of Sayyed Begh and Alif Khan, had attacked the Guru in this site. Though the Mughal troop was large in number, it suffered heavy casualties and retreated after defeat.
