Associated with
Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, Gurdwara Patshahi Ninth is situated at a distance of 12 km from
Patiala in Punjab. It is believed that the ninth Sikh Guru visited this place twice - in 1665 and 1675. On his first visit, the Guru arrived here along with Mata Guruji and numerous Sikh followers. On his second visit, Guru Tegh Bahadur stayed here for three months. The Gurdwara observes the martyrdom days of Guru Tegh Bahadur and Guru Arjan Dev. The festival of Charan Choy is celebrated with fanfare in this Gurdwara. Punjabi University is easily accessible from here.
