Gurdwara Mata Sundri Ji

A landmark on the Mata Sundri Lane in the heart of Delhi, Gurdwara Mata Sundri is one of the major historical Gurdwaras of the Sikh community. Mata Sundri was a disciple of Guru Gobind Singh and a mother figure of the Sikh community. Guru Gobind Singh had granted her five weapons – a sword, a double edged sword (Khanda), a long dagger (Khanjar) and two daggers (Katar). Mata was also allowed to use the seal of the Guru called Hukumnama, literally meaning divine orders. Gurdwara Mata Sundri holds the memorial service of Mata Sundri along with that of Mata Sahib Kaur. The New Delhi Railway Station is within 5 km from the Gurdwara. The nearest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
