Gurdwara Manji Sahib

Gurdwara Manji Sahib is a famous Sikh shrine located at Pinjore in Haryana. It stands on Chandigarh-Simla road, near the Pinjore Gardens. It was built in commemoration of the visit of the 1st Sikh guru, Guru Nanak Dev.

Guru Nanak visited this gurdwara during his third udasi (travels) in 1517. A big jungle was there at that time and a group of yogis practiced Hatha Yoga at the Dhara Mandap. Guruji made them realize the uselessness of self-torture and renunciation as a means to salvation. Folklore says that Guruji cured the hands of a king by spraying water from the sacred baoli, which still exists at the gurdwara.

Chandigarh Airport is the nearest airport. Kalka Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
