Gungri Monastery
Gungri Monastery is situated in
Lahaul and Spiti District

. It is one of the oldest
Buddhist
establishments lies in the
Pin Valley
. This monastery belongs to the red-headed sect, ‘Nyingmapa’ (Old School) founded by Padmasambhava, the patron saint of the Buddhists. He established Mahayana Tantric Buddhism here in the beginning of 8th century.
