Gundla Brahmeswaram Wildlife Sanctuary




Gundla Brahmeswaram Wildlife Sanctuary is located about 30 km from Nandyal and is on the border between Kurnool and Prakasam districts.

Gundla Brahmeswaram Sanctuary occupies an area of over 1194 sq km and is covered by mixed deciduous forests. It is situated on Gundla Brahmeshwaram plateau running south to north of the Nallamallai hill range. The Gundlakamma River flows through the sanctuary. The wildlife include tiger, panther, sloth bear, wild dog, hyena, jungle cat, langur, bonnet monkey, pangolin, sambar, nilgai, chowsinga, chinkara, mouse deer, monitor lizard, python and marsh crocodile.

Best time to visit is from October to May. Tourists can stay at the forest guesthouse in Nandyal.

Kurnool is a major town nearby and is 100 km northwest of Nandyal.
