Founded in 1967, the Gujarat Ayurved University is dedicated to Ayurvedic studies and research. Courses include Diploma in
Ayurveda, Introductory Course in Ayurveda, Post Graduate Diploma in Medicinal Plants, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Master of Pharmacy, Post Graduate Diploma in Medicinal Plants, and Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy. Literary research, drug research, and clinical research are undertaken.
Housed inside the university campus are the Institute for Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Shri Gulabkunwarba Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Institute for Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute for Medicinal Plant Sciences, Maharishi Patanjali Institute for Yoga and Naturopathy Education and Research. The university also has an international center for ayurvedic studies, medical astrology research center, and old age care center in its campus.
