Guhanparai is a small rock hill located at Vembakkottai taluk in
Virudhunagar District. It is on the way to Kalugumalai from Vembakkottai. There is a natural cave on the foot of the hill. It is believed that this cave was used by Jain monks as a shelter. A 10th century vatteluttu inscription on the rocks of the hillock states that there existed a monastery by name Munnurruvarperumpalli.
