Gudavi is a quaint village in the
Sorab taluk of
Shimoga District, in
Karnataka. It is located 55 km south of
Sirsi.
Gudavi is home to Gudavi Bird Sanctuary and the enchanting Gudavi Lake. Come June and the place turns alive with the chirp of migratory birds and the increasing traffic of tourists. During seasons, gray heron, night heron, little cormorant, jungle fowl and White Ibis are spotted here in large numbers.
June to October constitute the tourist season. Sirsi - Banavasi - Gudavi journey takes approximately two hours.
