Government Residential Women’s Polytechnic, the only one of its kind in
Kannur District, is situated amid the beautiful landscape at Muthiyalam, just 3 km away from
Payyanur town. It was founded in 1991 under the management of World Bank Assisted Technical Education Project (WBATEP).
The polytechnic offers diploma courses in electronics and communication engineering, computer engineering, computer applications and business management, and electronics and instrumentation engineering.
The institute has a good infrastructure to support the technical curriculum. Facilities include well-equipped labs, library, hostel accommodations, resource center and modern teaching aids like LCD projectors and OHPs.
