Government Holkar Science College was founded on June 10, 1891. It was built by the ruler of
Indore, Maharaja Shivaji Rao Holkar, in memory of his father Maharaja Tukoji Rao Holkar. The college is affiliated to
Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. It offers graduate courses in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Zoology, Botany, Statistics, Geology, Industrial Fisheries, Fisheries and Seed technology, Computer, Electronics, Micro-Biology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Bio-technology and post graduate courses in Bio-Chemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Statistics, Physics, and Zoology. The college provides research facilities in science subjects such as Bio-Physics and Geophysics. It has a library which consists of 50 thousand books including reference books. Sports activities are also available.
