Gopi Talav is an sacred pond situated about 20 km north of
Dwarka, on the way to
Bet Dwarka, in
Gujarat. According to Hindu mythology, it is the ancient site where
Lord Krishna met the gopis when they came to see him at Dwarka. The sacred clay from Gopi Talav, known as ‘Gopi Candana’, is used to make the tilak marks by devotees of Krishna on their bodies.
