Gopal Bhavan

Gopal Bhavan is a majestic palace situated at Deeg in the Bharatpur District of Rajasthan. It is an imposing structure, with beautifully laid gardens at its entrance and the rear, overlooking the Gopal Sagar Lake. The building is sandwiched between Sawan and Bhadon pavilions, named after the monsoon months. Gopal Bhavan, constructed in 1760, shows a combination of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. The spacious banquet hall with proportioned pillars, the dining hall and the royal chess room give an exiting view in their formation and design. The marble swing in front of the palace belonged to Empress Noor Jahan. One room contains a solid black marble bed from Delhi. Keshav Bhavan lies in the vicinity of Gopal Bhavan. The palace is open 08:00 to 17:00 hrs daily. Deeg is well-connected with Bharatpur, Agra and Delhi by road. The nearest railway station is at Bharatpur.
