Gof Gungthan Solanga Raas, also known as Athanga Nritya, is a popular dance form of the Koli and Kanbi community of
Saurashtra, in
Gujarat. It is a very intricate and entertaining variation of
Dandia Raas.
In this dance form various strings are tied to a ring hanged at the ceiling. The other end of the string is handed to the performers who starts with Garbi dance and then play Dandia Raas. During the Raas, the dancers perform several modes including Bethak, Fundadi and Tappa. The dancers then play alternatively in which each one comes out and other goes in circle. The strings get knitted first and then released.
