Godrumadvipa

Godrumadvipa, an island of Navadvipa in Nadia District, is situated on the eastern side of the Ganges. Legend has it that in the Dvapara Yuga, a surabhi cow and Lord Indra performed austerities and worshipped Lord Chaitanya under a holy banyan tree. As Surabhi is believed to stay in Godrumadvipa eternally, the place is called Godrumadvipa.

Godrumadvipa is the home of Nanda Maharaja. Gada Gacha, Bhaktivinoda Thakur’s House Suvarna Bihara, Hari-Hara Ksetra and Amra Ghata are the interesting spots in the vicinity. Godrumadvipa is about an hour's drive from Mayapur.
