Gobindgarh Fort, an early 19th century fort built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, is located at
Amritsar. It is noted for its unique defense mechanism against artillery attacks, which were designed to counter the ravaging the Afghan hordes.
The fort is presently under the control of the Indian Army.
